Avery Dennison

Large number of functions under one roof

Avery Dennison

The five floor Avery Dennison head office hosts several functions: offices, laboratories and an interactive show room where the company exhibits its latest innovations. In cooperation with architect bureau Paul de Ruiter, OVG Real Estate ensured a distinctive and sustainable design.

Spaciously connected

Avery Dennison, which, for instance, develops labels and foils, has its head office of the Materials Group Europe and the R&D centre, located in the Leiden Bio Science Park, an internationally known research-park. The Bio Science Park lies along the A44 with Schiphol, Leiden, Den Haag and Amsterdam nearby

The building can house 450 employees. The flexible and multifunctional work floors are visually and spaciously connected, which stimulates cooperation and interaction among the employees. The offices and laboratories are situated around a central atrium, so every workplace has sufficient daylight and a view on the surroundings.

The atrium is the actual heart of the building for both employees and visitors. Also the customer experience centre is situated here; an interactive showroom where the latest innovations, technologies and Avery Dennison products can be experienced.

Green innovation

The building is equipped with a moss and sedum roof and a green facade partition with incorporated irrigation system, which conceals the installation on the roof. This innovation was designed especially for this building, by OVG Real Estate.

In addition to low-energy lighting with daylight-dependent control and presence detection, approximately half of the facade is equipped with etching, which reflects sunlight. As such, less cooling of the building is necessary, which positively contributes to energy saving.

The building is BREEAM NL Very Good Bespoke certified. The addition Bespoke implies that certification for this project was customisation, as a result of the fact that OVG Real Estate develops laboratories.t.

Not only on the inside of the building is investigation done, it’s also done on the outside: The detailing of the facade was designed on actual Avery Dennison materials. As a result, the facade is part of the Research & Development department. The labels and facade foils, developed by Avery Dennison, can thus be tested immediately.
