Transparent and sustainable
Oranjewoud
The office, completed in 2013 for Oranjewoud, can easily be seen as a fulfilment of the sustainability strategy of this engineering and consultancy firm, since the building was certified BREEAM-NL Very Good.
Seamless connection
The building for Oranjewoud is striking because of its transparent and exceptionally sustainable design by architect bureau Paul de Ruiter. In addition it seamlessly connects to the sustainability strategy of one of the largest Dutch consultancy and engineering firms on urban development, mobility and real estate. Consequently, in the office, for instance, a heat/cold storage (WKO) can be found, which is situated near the entrance. The central part and the entrance of the building have a courtyard, which give the building a very spacious and open character.
Besides, in the office various applications have been installed, that save water and energy and also reduce CO2 emissions, such as a heat/cold storage, water-saving measures in the sanitary facilities as well as an installation for presence detection and daylight regulation.
“This development is a showcase of what can be achieved if all parties engage themselves in the interest of sustainability”
Coen van Oostrom, CEO OVG Real Estate.
Engagement
The project as well as the associated BREEAM-certification is the result of intensive collaboration between Oranjewoud, OVG Real Estate, Dura Vermeer Bouw Rosmalen, Architectural firm Paul de Ruiter, Engineer firm Bartels and Hiensch building services firm. During the process all parties proved themselves to be willing to engage.
