Coca-Cola opts for OVG Real Estate

Loyal to Rotterdam, Coca-Cola consciously chose OVG Real Estate, the project developer who is at the forefront of sustainability and intelligent technology.

Coca-Cola will move to the MM25 building in the Prins Alexander quarter in October 2018. OVG Real Estate purchased the MM25 building in 2015 with the intention of making it more sustainable and turning it into a ‘SMART building’ by fitting smart technologies. And it worked. The energy label went from E to A, proof that the overall energy consumption was drastically reduced after renovation. The objective now is for the building to be awarded the BREEAM Very Good certificate. BREEAM is the most recognised certificate for sustainable buildings worldwide.

Green and user-centred
With large open work spaces, the building is entirely future-proof. A suitable workspace can be created for any type of work. The hallmark of OVG Real Estate’s offices is their carefully balanced use of smart technologies and sustainable applications that ensure an efficient, healthy and green user-centred workspace. One good example is the climate ceiling which not only creates comfortable spaces, but its embedded sensors collect data which is used to further optimise the building. This helps the building to be used more efficiently and economically. By using LED lighting, a new climate control unit and heat resistant glass, the energy consumption, and thus the CO2 emissions, is drastically reduced.

This is forward
Under the slogan ‘Coca-Cola OPEN’, the company is spending November sharing its aspirations in the area of sustainability with a wide public. It will enter into dialogue with people from politics, municipalities, companies, education, civil society organisations and, of course, its customers. In its This is Forward, action plan Coca-Cola made its sustainability goals for 2025 concrete, at the local level too. This approach will move the company forward. All parts of the company contribute to this, so the brands and the people play an important role too. The new premises and a fitting workspace that brings all the company’s components together will strengthen this.
