De Laurenshof

Natural re-development

De Laurenshof

The Laurenshof is a multifunctional building in downtown Rotterdam. The existing part was fully re-developed by OVG Real Estate and equipped with a whole new section. The complex offers space for homes, offices, shops, catering facilities and a parking.

Traditional

The design by the German architect bureau Kollhoff, in cooperation with Rapp+Rapp, fits into the tradition of European metropolitan architecture. Consequently it chimes with the existing city structure in a natural way. The facades consists, inter alia, of natural materials, such as fired bricks, Chinese granite and brass window frames.

The design blends in naturally with the existing city structure.

Easily accessible

Since the Laurenshof houses the head office of the Stichting Ouderenhuisvesting Rotterdam (SOR) (Elderly Housing Foundation of Rotterdam), it’s also a great advantage that the building is easily accessible for the elderly. In addition the building provides room for the Department of Social Affairs and Employment.
